Exploitation of this island by developers continues unchecked. However there are a number of individuals who wish to own a property here; individuals who have supported Bali in numerous ways over the years. Some have been our guests, and some have just heard about the concept. Many have sought out information of how to do what I have done.

There are many, many “don’ts” when buying and/or building in Bali. I have learned the hard way. The most recent lesson is: “don’t believe your lawyer.” I did. And, it turns out, she is not a lawyer at all. She currently she dines with Schapelle while she awaits trial on embezzlement charges. Ten million United States dollars and still counting. Ex-pat money. Many of whom were just trying to do what I have done over the past five years.

So if it is advice, I give it for free. If you have your own Balinese, or Indonesian cause, and would like a small place that can double as your home, while providing income while you are not there, local land is still available here.
