Villa Gils - 3 Bedroom Villa

Master Suite
Located on the second level of the main bale, the master suite consists of an air-conditioned double bedroom. The ensuite bathroom has indoor and outdoor facilities. A large living area overlooks the beach and adjoining coconut grove. With gentle sea breezes, under the alang alang roof, you may never want to venture downstairs.

Guest Bedrooms
In a sperate bale there are two double bedrooms. Both feature private verandas, ensuite bathrooms with outdoor shower, and air-conditioning.

Living Area
With the kitchen as the focus of this large open plan room, there are two living areas on either side. Imagine the kids at one end watching a DVD, while the adults relax at the other, sipping a local beer or an exotic cocktail. Without external walls, the living areas benefit from ocean breezes and allow the essences of Bali permeate the villa.

Swimming Pool
A state of the art 25 meter lap pool fronts the main and guest bales. Step out of your bedroom straight into the pool, or just enjoy the ambiance of watching the water lap at the wet edge. There is also a wading pool for those who can’t swim.

Outside Dining
A bale is located on the other side of the pool - perfect for outdoor dining. Breakfast is served there whenever you require it. Your lunch & dinner can also be served at the bale if you prefer private villa dining rather than the small communal "Timur@DuaGils" Restaurant.

Day-bed Bale
Separate from the main house, at the end side of the pool, the covered day-bed is just the place to chill out. Large enough for 2 plus people, it is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing massage, read a book, or have the obligatory afternoon nap.

Staff
There are 6 full time staff to help you enjoy your stay. Wayan manages the Villa, and will meet with you daily to help plan your day.

Rumah Kecil - (Little House) - Two Bedroom Villa

Due to the demand for Villa Gils, the owner had nowhere to stay, hence the construction of Rumah Kecil. Directly in front of Villa Gils, this villa is single level in order to maintain the views from the Gils.

Main Bale
On the left hand side when you enter, the main bale has a large air-conditioned double bedroom, and an inside/outside bathroom with a bathtub. There is a small office off the bedroom that is used by many parents as a children’s bedroom. At the front is a lounge with a mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities, and a television with satellite reception. There is a small deck at the front of this living area.

Guest Bale
This bale is a mirror image of the main bale, but without the living area at the front. There is a small covered balcony as you enter with comfortable chairs to watch the ever changing sea at your doorstep. Both bedrooms can be configured as either a double, or twin set up.

Swimming Pool
With direct access to the beach, there is only a plunge pool at Rumah Kecil. It features a ledge along one side for seating, and spa jets. There is an outdoor shower next to it, to enable you to rinse off after being in the ocean.

Outside Dining
Next to the plunge pool is a small bale for outside dining. Configured for four, it can easily be extended to accommodate extra guests. Meals can be served here, or taken in the small restaurant at Dua Gils next door.

Day-Bed Bale
Protected by a wall from the prevailing winds, this bale is right at the edge of the property above the steps to the beach. With two oversized day beds, a coffee table, a dozen throw pillows - there is really little reason to move from here. Ever.

Staff
The staff room is behind the house. The bonus here is that this lay-out guarantees you complete privacy once the front door to the property is closed.

Dua Gils

A complex of three, one bedroom units - and a restaurant.

Guest Bales
Each individual guest bale has an air-conditioned double bedroom downstairs. Off this bedroom is an indoor/outdoor bathroom, and private courtyard. Upstairs, each bale has an open air living area. Views of the ocean in front, and the mountains behind, dominate. There is a small outside balcony off the roofed area. Under cover, all bales have two day beds and a coffee table. Outside, there are two outdoor chairs and a small side table. Mosquito netting can be drawn to enclose this area at night, or at any time during the day to provide privacy. Meals can be served in “your” living room, or taken at the restaurant downstairs.

Swimming Pool
The villagers believe it looks like a footprint, and believe it is the owners stamp on Bali. It is a kidney shaped pool about fourteen meters in length. The depth is only 1.4 meters, so there is no diving or jumping. It is however perfect for exercising. Much nicer to walk in the cooling water, than around the hot and humid surrounds.

Massage Bale
Tucked away in a corner is the massage bale. Here, in the privacy of an open air, but cocooned netted bale, you can enjoy one of our massages. Body scrubs, and other treatments can be taken in the walled courtyard of your individual bale.

Reading Bale
At the eastern end of the villa, there is a small bale with a double day bed. A perfect spot for reading a good book, or for getting out of the sun - without being out of the action. There is a small library in the restaurant, but at this time, the majority of books are in English.

Timur Restaurant
This is in the large bale. It is not intended that this will become a restaurant open to the general public. While it seats twenty, it is provided only for our guests, others who live around us in Mendira, and nice ex-pats who want a fresh salad, or a meal without lashings of Balinese spices. The menu does not include any red meat. There is a limited wine list, and you have to bring your own spirits. On the plus side, we use only the freshest ingredients, and the menu - while limited - should satisfy even the pickiest eater. Breakfast is available all day. Lunch is available from midday, and dinner is served at 7.30.
